I am liking this one. Upbeat and happy.
I have to say, these kpop semi-newbies do impress...

  1. haha... it's FREEZING in my part of the world. and frankly, i'm not too happy right now about it.
every morning, i wake up freezing cuz i'm too lazy to cushion my blanket. so yeah, i brought it on myself.
thanks for the grooves post! i had no idea it was jung so mo doing painter of the wind. honestly, i didn't google that one. -_-"
and yes, the kpop semi-newbies (lol. but accurate) are very much impressive. the problem is that there's too many of them. or maybe it's not such a problem now that i'm getting used to having a new group debut like every week. it makes it hard to fall in love with them no matter how much better they are compared to suju (let's face it, it's not that hard to be better than suju). i'm just stuck to liking them and being impressed. i particularly love bada's track here... it's not for nothing she was the vocal in SES. their track in PT is not their best but still, seeya is amazing. and SKKS!! hope you finish it soon! MOON. JAE. SHIN. faint. although honestly, my biggest revelation is yoochun. i expected yoonie to excel but had basically low expectations for micky, even if i'm an ex-cassie, his acting skills weren't that great. anyways, where was I? oh yeah, SKKS ost is awesome! slightly overrated if you look at the albums sales but still quite deserving as well. and yes, baker kind had a decent soundtrack. kk. KCM is an amazing soul singer.

  2. btw, have you listened to KCM in hwang jin yi? for a while, i fell asleep listening to that song. and crying. ha ji won kicks ass! (sorry, i'm just beginning to feel the anticipation of SG)

  3. "let's face it, it's not that hard to be better than suju" Oo *surprised* LOL, that was unexpected to hear from an Elf. As for a lot of the new acts, I'm with you, they pain me, there are too many, yet so few with real talent. B2ST, however, have grown on me over the past year. Sometimes they give off a Big Bang Jr flavor (which is obviously a HUGE compliment from me, as naturally I think BB stands at the top of the mountain, heh). You know, actually, I haven't heard the Hwang Jinyi sountrack. I'll have to go take a hear. =) Thanks

Yep...I need to finish my "open" dramas quickly before Mary, Secret Garden, and Daddy's Girl starts airing!

  4. haha... i just realized what i said about suju reading your quote sounded like an anti's.. kk.
but honestly, suju may have many talented people but i've seen much more wholesome groups where most of the members can dance+sing super well. what i meant is that you can find better faces, bodies, acting, overall singing, musical talent, dancing, in another group as well. and even many other idols are as entertaining, it's just that suju gets more spotlight. if you talk about weird characters, other groups have them too. (maybe not as many catchy songs though).
that said, i'm not saying they are not talented. and i like them because they are hard working but so are others. and my physical attraction to the members is even not that high (relatively speaking).
but what i like about suju most is the chemistry and friendship and interaction in the group. anyways,
to complete this off-topic rant (sorry about that), i know that i've really got it bad if I see all their shortcomings and still like them above other groups. and as much as i see their shortcomings, it makes me see red when I see someone else bash them... haha. hypocrite, i know. but it's a bit like family or friends, really good-looking friends that you happen to crush on from time to time. kk. but still friends, not necessarily the most talented, you feel protective over and feel pride for when they do something well.

oh really, I never really thought of B2ast as BB's junior? i admit now that you've said it that their smooth dancing skills remind me of youngbae and but musically, i didn't see that... maybe you're talking about their characters? or that i haven't properly listened to their first mini-album? the only idol group that i've ever associated with BB is Ze:a... and ONLY for one song (in terms of talent, they are quite far FAR from BB). for me, BB is really unique and uniquely talented. plus, i love that they are unpretentious. both in shows and in (NOT) lipsynching, something i can't say about suju although they are much better at it now. honestly, YG stage presence and energy is quite unparalleled (even though i have an SM bias). I really admire them as artists.

as for the newbies, i feel almost too bad for them because some groups come out really talented + good looks but then get overlooked because of the massive influx of idols.

anyways, why was i ranting about idols group all of the sudden??

and yes, i'm freezing here. unless you're in siberia, greenland, antartica or canada, you can't beat northeast cold.

mary is next week! happy week-end!

  5. oh... i've just rewatched and rediscovered the b2st practice vid you posted with what you said about bb in mind and i think i might see it... a bit. actually, before, i already had some kind of same vibe from b2st labelmates 4minute as 2ne1 but never b2st and bb.
ok. sorry. rant of idols officially over.

More fangirling over JiSub and HyoJin after the jump, and Master’s Sun (Episode 5 and 6) will be the only drama I yap about and spoil. It was the only one I managed to watch this week.
